Stein-Keramik was based in Ransbach Baumbach, an area with a high density of ceramic manufacturers. Many of the designs are by the former owner, Mr. Egon Klein who joined the the company in 1956 and took over the company with his wife in 1966.

Stein operated as a trade company (rather than manufacture) towards the end of its life and it may have ceased as a brand name 2009.

Currently it sells ceramic urns under the Feuer und Erde (Fire and Earth) name referencing “more than 60 years of expertise of the company as a manufacturer of ceramic products… As a family business in the third generation”. All Feuer und Erde Urns are made in Germany.

Many items were formerly wrongly attributed to Jopeko.
