West German Pottery – Price Trends – May 2012

Sale prices on eBay have been analysed to evaluate West German Pottery price trends.  The aim is to monitor the changing value of Fat Lava pottery through analysis of UK eBay sales. The intention is that this will provide a barometer for the popularity/desirability of Fat Lava items.

There has been a small  reduction in sale prices during May 2012. Average sales prices have reduced to £12.55 (previous month £14.70). The top 20% most expensive Fat Lava items average sale price was £34.26 down 31% on the previous month (£49.87).

WGP Spotted (17) – “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is” TV Show – Series 6, Episode 19

This is the second time in quick succession that West German pottery has featured on the BBC TV show “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is”.  This episode broadcast in April 2012 (Series 6, Episode 19) featured a large West German floor vase.

The Scheurich vase was bought from a German lady at a antiques fair for £25, who was selling a range of West German pottery. The programme mentions Heinz Siery as the designer.

The item was again sold to Stuart at Bygone Times in Chorley who deals in West German ceramics for a profit of £17.

WGP Spotted (16) – “Location Location Location” TV Show March 2012 – Wowie Zowie

Location Location Location (Series 14, episode 17 (which you can see here)) was based in Manchester and featured a fleeting glimpse of Wowie Zowie, our favorite retro shop and not just because they buy West German Pottery from us. They stock a wide range of quality mid century, retro and vintage bits and pieces.

Sale prices on eBay have been analysed to evaluate West German Pottery price trends.  The aim is to monitor the changing value of Fat Lava pottery through analysis of UK eBay sales. The intention is that this will provide a barometer for the popularity/desirability of Fat Lava items.

There has been an upturn in sale prices during April 2012. Average sales prices have increased to £14.70 (previous month £9.96). The top 20% most expensive Fat Lava items average sale price was £49.87 nearly twice that of the previous month (£25.17).

WGP Spotted (15) – “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is” TV Show – Series 6, Episode 17

West German pottery featured recently on the BBC TV show “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is”. This programme has two antiques dealers going head to head buying items at a car boot sale and then trying to sell them to make a profit for their chosen charity. This episode broadcast in April 2012 (Series 6, Episode 17) featured a West German vase and two West German ceiling lights.

The items were sold to Stuart at Bygone Times in Chorley who deals in West German ceramics.

By chance in the same episode they also visit a retro styled apartment where there are a selection of West German Vases (front Bay 66-25, back left Scheurich 553 or 517, back right Scheurich 517-30)
