West German Pottery – Price Trends – March 2013

Sale prices on eBay have been analysed to evaluate West German Pottery price trends. The aim is to monitor the changing value of Fat Lava pottery through analysis of UK eBay sales. The intention is that this will provide a barometer for the popularity/desirability of Fat Lava items.

The average sale price (plus postage) of West German pottery items during March 2013 was £23.13, up from the previous month (£18.38). This is the 3rd highest average sale price during the 19 month analysis period.

The top 20% most expensive Fat Lava items average sale price (plus postage) was £66.65, down slightly on the previous month (£70.86), but still the 5th highest value over the 19 months since analysis commenced.

West German Pottery Spotted (28) – Red Eyed Dove – Vintage Shop – Hitchin

Red Eyed Dove is a fantastic little vintage shop in Hitchin. The three floors are crammed with vintage household gems including furniture, lights and decorative items. Amongst the many mid century items there are lots of good quality Fat Lava items, with examples from West Germany, East Germany, Holland and Italy. PotsandPots have been pleased to be able to provide stock to Caroline at Red Eyed Dove and it was great to see some of the vases looking very much at home in their new 1950s/1960s surroundings when we visited earlier this year.

If you like the look of any of the items then you can visit Red Eyed Dove at 33 Bridge Street, Hitchin, Hertfordshire. They also have a facebook page which you can visit here.
